Remember when you last used the digitized chip wrapped in a non metallic cover in your pocket just to make phone calls? Well even if you answer Prehistoric age that wouldn’t be quite an injustice. We have stepped into the era of evolution long back and it just gets better and better everyday .Where “tablets” are no longer known for curing headaches and ice-cream sandwiches to lust your taste bud. Temptation takes another degree hike with the introduction of Android
4.1 Jelly Bean!
It was not a cake walk for Google to convince the world that it’s happy to go lucky green extraterrestrial G1 could make codswallop of the revolutionary Iphone. So it has practically come a long way since its toddler days to today when android is an every hand held name!
Google announced the release of Android 4.1 Jelly bean on June 27th and what is more incredible Is Google is now anticipating about 12 new Android devices every second.
Inception and Today
It was not even a year that Google had released Ice Cream Sandwich v 4.0 and practically ICS has not yet been officially rolled out on many countries of Asia Pacific including Middle East. Now with the release of Jelly Bean 4.1 Google has whammed the world with a surprise!
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is more about renovation and refinement from the already existing compact framework. It’s faster, smoother and definitely much more capable. “Project Butter” has improved Android 4.1’s speed to a silky –smooth 60FPS, it’s regarded as a major effort to squash Android’s frequent problems with device lag and performance. It is now enabled to run the CPU and Graphics in parallel runtime and not necessarily bump into each other. Graphics, triple buffered to enable ease of scrolling and transitions soothing along and with an act smart processor which will swing into full gear the moment you touch the interface, makes Android 4.1 Jelly Bean extremely desirable.
A new feature named as “Google Now” has been device which gets you just what you need at just the right time. Something which the smartphones companies have promised for years now finally has gained some momentum with its implementation. E.gs like knowing the day’s weather before the start of the day or how much traffic to expect before starting for work and many more stuffs.
With some changes quite subtle and some perplex, Android development platform is beginning to take the shape of Intel’s processor implementation. Not sure if is that’s a too pompous statement butAndroid 4.1 Jelly Beandefinitely looks promising. There is a major shift with the User interface paradigm that sets you to re-imagine an Android device.
What makes it peppier is what started as a transition from Android Honeycomb to Ice Cream switch, there is tad less neon blue spread in part and parcels of the OS . Few mark ups for you folks, the notification field is now pampered with white instead of the earlier stereotype color. However bulk area of the OS is still painted with dark backdrops and clean lines. Basically keeping it simple, the mettle of futurism that was developed in Honeycomb has been carried forward to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Android’s patent font Roboto blinks up with hints of aberration throughout the OS and most prominently In the Google Now feature. This variation definitely makes sense as you navigate throughout the OS and the UI.
What is Google Now?
The feature is presented in a “Card” like format in a vertically scrolling list. The main idea is to look natural throughout the day, feeding information which you have otherwise manually searched for on a browser window or a pirated app! It is more of an interface within an interface which you can tap or swipe away to glory, but cannot rearrange them directly.
To find it, just swipe up from the Home button, and you would find an interface similar to Android’s Holotheme, android junkies will definitely spring board! It’s a beautiful addition with fairly large readable fonts too.
The Notification drop down of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean also got a retouch and innovative tweaking , it is simply Roboto that takes all over however in not a flat bold font . It shows you the day you are in and the week you belong, not a real Android way! Some of the notifications can be enlarged from a dwarf to giraffe tall size fetching more information without necessarily opening the app and higher resolution contact photos.
Navigation and Keyboard
Convenient, easy to use, robust and swift! These are the possible keywords for the futuristically designed keyboard. With enabled autocorrect, additional language packs and a better updated personal dictionary. It’s a headline level text entering prodigy!
he Final verdict
Not head over heels, but Android 4.1 Jelly Bean definitely looks much more sweeter than it’s predecessors but we definitely admit that the impact of the new kid in the block has been incredible. Better user experience, user interface and Jelly Bean powered apps. It is definitely going to take the market by storm but not sure if it would sustain as there is not much of aesthetic changes. Is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean a market changer? Soon, time will reveal.
