Apple iPhone 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note
The Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note are probably the best in their domain. They are the top share of sales and profits for their respective companies in the iOS and the Android market respectively. The giants of the smartphone industry, Apple and Samsung, compete head to head every year to dominate the smartphone market. The innovations and technology incorporated into these handsets are improving each year due to such stiff competition.
The Samsung Galaxy Note uses the Android OS version 4.0 also known as the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). While the Apple iPhone 5 uses the iOS 6. The Android OS version 4.0 or the ICS is very user friendly and more efficiently is a widget type of interface. Hence working with it is much faster and easier. Also the higher pixel density of 326ppi compared to the Galaxy Note’s 285ppi make it a lot better in display quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Note packs in a Cortex A9 dual core processor having a memory clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The iPhone 5 on the other hand uses the new A6 chipset compared to the older A5 of the previous iPhones. The A6 is about two times faster and efficient compared to the A5 and delivers high end graphics. Both the phones offer 1 GB of Ram. The Samsung Galaxy Note offers 16 GB of internal storage space and can be expandable up to 32 GB and is micro SD. The Apple iPhone 5 has 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage options and the storage is flash storage.
Audio and Video players
Both the phones have Audio players which can play practically any format ranging from MP3, FLAC, and OGG to WMA, AMR, WAV, etc. The video player of the Galaxy Note supports DivX, MP4, Xvid, H 264, H 263, VC-1 and WMV. While the video player of the iPhone 5 supports MPEG 4, JPG, H 264, etc.
Price and Verdict
The Apple iPhone 5 is expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note is priced around Rs. 30,000 while the iPhone 5 is around a whooping Rs. 45,000. Hence before choosing between the Samsung Galaxy Note and the iPhone 5 one must carefully decide their requirements and the pros and cons of the phones.
